In the often unpredictable terrain of Nigerian politics, where promises are easily made and often broken, Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke stands out as a refreshing exception. A man propelled into political limelight not by personal ambition but by a deep-seated passion to serve his people, Adeleke is today not just the Governor of Osun State, he is a living testament to what it means to lead with integrity, compassion, and a firm commitment to one’s word.
When he first sought to lead the people of Osun in 2018 and again in 2022, Senator Adeleke made a solemn covenant with God and the people. He promised to govern with the fear of God, to always put the people first, and to restore the dignity of leadership through transparent, accountable, and people-focused governance. These weren’t just empty campaign slogans; they were a heartfelt vow from a man who understands that power is transient, but legacy is eternal.

From the very first day of his administration, Governor Adeleke has carried himself with humility and the consciousness of divine accountability. He has never shied away from acknowledging the spiritual foundation of his mandate, often stating publicly that it was God and the will of the people that brought him to power. This deep reverence has shaped every major policy decision and administrative direction his government has taken so far.
His commitment to fairness, justice, and equity is visible in his inclusive style of governance. He has appointed people from across different zones and backgrounds in Osun State into key positions, reflecting his understanding that leadership must mirror the diversity of those it serves.
At the heart of Governor Adeleke’s administration is the people. He came into office with a clear mission: to put the people first. His developmental agenda is not elitist or self-serving; it is focused on meeting the most pressing needs of the masses, from workers and artisans to students, pensioners, and farmers.
Welfare of Workers and Pensioners: He inherited a backlog of salary arrears and pensions, but he has made it a priority to clear them systematically. For the first time in years, Osun workers and retirees are beginning to feel the positive impact of governance once again.
Infrastructural Development: Major projects like the dualization of strategic township roads across Osogbo, Ilesa, Iwo, Ede, Ila-Orangun, and Ile-Ife are not just beautifying the cities, they are also enhancing commerce, reducing travel time, and creating employment opportunities.
Health Sector Reforms: Primary health centers across the state are being renovated and equipped. More healthcare workers are being recruited to bridge the gap in rural and urban healthcare delivery.
Digital Economy and Innovation: Understanding the power of the digital space, Adeleke launched the Osun Tech Revolution, which has seen thousands of youths trained in ICT, innovation, and entrepreneurial development.
Unlike some who seek office with lofty rhetoric only to abandon their words once elected, Adeleke has consistently kept faith with his promises. His first year in office was widely celebrated not just for its symbolic value, but for the concrete achievements that accompany it. Roads are being constructed. Hospitals are being revived. Schools are being renovated. Salaries are being paid. Governance is working.
For the people of Osun, this is no small feat. For years, promises have been made and broken. Hopes have been raised only to be dashed. But with Adeleke, there’s a sense of reassurance, a belief that this time, things are truly different.
Senator Ademola Adeleke’s journey is far from over. His administration is still unfolding. Yet, even now, it is evident that a legacy is in the making, one built on honesty, service, empathy, and fear of God.
He made a promise. He has kept it. And with every passing day, he continues to prove that Osun made the right choice.
