NIGER STATE GOVT DONATE N1B TO FLOOD SURVIVORS FOR TEMPORARY SHELTER

The Niger State Government has announced a donation of N1 billion to victims of the recent flood disaster to assist them in securing temporary shelter. This intervention is aimed at easing their hardship while they await the commencement and eventual completion of the Federal Government’s housing scheme designated for them.

Governor Mohammed Umar Bago, who made the announcement, stated that the support is part of efforts to ensure that displaced persons transition out of Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camps with dignity. He added that the government expects all affected victims to vacate the camps by the end of June 2025.

The farmer governor also said the budget for the construction of the bridges such as ezhi, rabba,ndayako and mokwa respectively worth about 7billion naira. And work will commence as soon as possible.

In his response the Ndalile of Mokwa, Alhaji Aliyu Shaba who said he was deeply torched by the support given his domain expressed appreciation on the gesture of Governor Mohammed Umar Bago led Goverment over the calamity that befall his domain.
He prayed for the success of the Governors administration while also thanking all agencies and organizations that have showed support yo his people.
The traditional ruler prayed such a tragedy will not befall any part of this country again because in his words “It is more than a devastating scenario to loose people’s life and valuable properties.”
