An Akure based legal practitioner, Oluwanike Omotayo Esq. and eight other persons have been dragged before an Upper Area Court sitting at the Akerebiata area of Ilorin by one Oyekanmi Isijola, also a legal practitioner.
The matter came up for mention on Monday 18th August, 2025 in a complaint that bothers on allegation of criminal conspiracy, criminal intimidation, forgery, criminal defamation, injurious falsehood, cyber stalking, contrary to the provisions of the Penal Code Law and Cybercrime Prohibition and Prevention Act respectively.

While Oluwanike Omotayo Esq., the first defendant was absent in Court, her Counsel, Okedayo Nicholas Esq. pleaded with the Court that his client could not appear in person in court due to some personal issues requiring her urgent attention. He therefore prayed the Court not to grant a Warrant of Arrest being sought against his client by the complaint’s counsel, Moses Bisi Afolayan Esq.
However, the Court issued a Warrant of Arrest against the 7th and 8th defendants who were duly served Court Summons but failed to appear before the Court.
In his ruling however, the Judge magnanimously refused to issue a Warrant of Arrest against Oluwanike Omotayo Esq because she had legal representation before the Court while the matter was adjourned to the 30th day of September, 2025 for further mention.
Speaking with our correspondent after the Court session, the complainant, Oyekanmi Isijola said, “I initiated the complaint as a result of moves by the defendants to unlawfully convert the estate of my late father to their personal property,
“I had obtained the death certificate of my father, likewise an affidavit of next-of-kin at the Probate Registry of the Kwara State High Court and upon realizing my action, which I am entitled to do as my late father’s first son, the defendants resorted to threats to my person in Ilorin and in Akure for daring to obtain the said documents in Ilorin.
“The defendants questioned my paternity through different medium and even changed my name to ‘Ovieh Takky’ a name I have never bore before,
“I hope to get justice against the persons mentioned in my complaint”
