Mokwa community was again thrown into mourning following the tragic death of a popular teacher, Mallam Mohammed Abubakar Tayi.
The diseased was reportedly stabbed to death on saturday night along Abattoir Road in Mokwa.
Mallam Tayi, a perfect gentle man was widely known for his humility, kindness, and jovial nature, coupled with a strong sense of discipline that earned him respect among colleagues, students, and residents alike.
His sudden and violent passing has left many in shock and sorrow especially after the mysterious flood that ravaged the community recently killing several residents.
Confirming the story, the Police Public Relations Officer, Niger State Command, SP Wasiu Abiodun in a statement said that on 7th June, 2025 at about 0730hrs, information was received at Mokwa Div that on 6th June, around late night period one Abubakar Tayi Mohammed about 40yrs of Rabba area of Mokwa was attacked by unknown persons along Abattoir/Agric school road, Mokwa. He was macheted to death, while his handset and Bajaj motorcycle were taken away.
Police operatives of Mokwa Div moved to the scene, the corpse was taken to general hospital Mokwa. Investigation into the unfortunate incident is ongoing with a view to arrest the perpetrators.
